“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
That’s it. That’s the president’s oath of office. He swears to preserve, protect and defend our nation’s constitution. How’s he doing at that so far? Not so well, many Americans believe, including me. What’s he doing or failing to do, that so wrong? Let’s see, where to begin?
He lies with more frequency and comfort than any politician, or any person, in my lifetime of experience. He compromises the security of his country by blindly trusting the word of one of its most dangerous enemies. He disrespects women and persons different from himself, entire populations, foreign leaders, anyone who dares to disagree with him. He appoints to crucial positions of power and influence people who are incompetent or corrupt or both. He ignores the advice of his learned and experienced advisers. Though married, he enjoys the company of prostitutes for sex. He shuns important security briefings in favor of conservative television. He values loyalty to himself personally above everything else. He cheats in his business dealings. He lacks the experience, intelligence or manners to conduct the office of president of anything, to say nothing of America.
Had enough? So have I.
Do you wonder why so many elected Republicans blindly follow and support him? So do I. What can we do about it? Our voice and our vote are our recourse. We can end this nightmare. So, let’s speak up and vote.
